I've got a busy schedule over the next few months, so here is a list of where you can find me. Updates will be posted here. 

AUGUST

14-16th WHEN WORDS COLLIDE: SFF Convention, Calgary :Panelist

19-23th SASQUAN (WorldCon/Hugo Awards), Spokane Adventures in Sci-Fi Pulbishing is a Hugo nominee. Brent Bowen, Tim Ward, and I will all be there. 

24th STOMP VS ROMP at the Book Nympho and Parajunkee: It's the paranormal romance leads against the action/adventure urban fantasy protagonists. Who will emerge victorious?

28-31th PENNY ARCADE EXPO (PAX), Seattle - Video and table top games. Need I say more? This is a fun one so make sure to ping me if you are attending. I'll aim for a meetup as interest dictates...and possibly a game of D&D...

SEPTEMBER

27th WORD READING FESTIVAL, VPL Vancouver: I'll be reading with all sorts of other authors from Western Canada. It's fun and FREE so stop by!

OCTOBER

1-4th VCON SFF CONVENTION, Vancouver : I'm a panelist of the writing and SFF panels. A great and affordable convention for fans and aspiring writers alike in Vancouver. 

8-11th NEW YORK COMICON : This will be a fun one! Its the release week for OWL AND THE CITY OF ANGELS so I'll be out and about at the Gallery/S&S booth. Stay tuned for more events around NYComicon.

NOVEMBER

20-22nd ORYCON SFF CONVENTION, Portland

22nd 4pm NW SF AUTHORFEST 9, Portland: This is a FREE, fun meet and greet at Powells Bookstore in Beaverton, Oregon where 25-30 authors come to chat, mingle, and sign books. It falls right after the Orycon convention. A great way to discover new favorite authors.

VANCOUVER (CANADA)

What: The Vancouver Writers Festival INCITE

Come hear three Canadian authors read from their latest works. Urban Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and a collection of short stories seen through a dark mirror are all on the plate!

SEATTLE

What: UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE Reading Allowed

A reading and signing with Jennifer Brozek at the famous Seattle UW University Bookstore!

Also on the good news front, Owl & the Japanese Circus went into 2nd printing! Huge thanks to all of you out there who went out and bought the physical book (& those who bought the ebook!!), reviewed on Goodreads/Amazon, and recommended the book to other.

Norwescon 38: Where I'll Be

Hi Folks! Below is my schedule for Norwescon 38 in Seattle where I'll be talking OWL, writing, and AISFP. For those not in the know, GRR Martin is the guest of honor...Hoping I'm not trampled by his many, many, many fans ;-) 

I'll likely have some giveaways and just confirmed OWL's ebook will be on a promo sale in both Canada and the US.

 Thursday 

4 - 5pm Cascade 2: Biology of a Zombie Apocalypse (w/Jim Kling, Pat MacEwen, and Dr. Ricky)

There are fungi that can alter behavior and chemicals that erase independent will, so zombies aren’t entirely in the realm of fantasy. Is a zombie apocalypse really a possibility? How might one unfold? 

8- 9pm Cascade 7&8: Urban Fantasy's Hard-Boiled Detective Roots (Pat MacEwen, Kurt Cagle, Laura Anne Gilman)

Current Urban Fantasy owes a lot to the American hard-boiled detective genre. We’ll discuss the ways in which urban fantasy draws from the detective genre and how you can integrate the best detective tropes when plotting your urban fantasy novel to good effect. 

Friday

11:30- 12pm Cascade 1: READING OWL & THE JAPANESE CIRCUS.  

7- 8pm Cascade 7&8: Women in Science Fiction (w/ Jonnalyhn Wolfcat, Esther Jones, Luna Lindsey, Annie Bellet) 

It’s 2015 and most films (and many books) still fail the Bechdel test. Are there any good female role models in science fiction? Or are they still relegated to being damsels in distress? A discussion of both weak and strong female science fiction characters in modern SF and how authors can (and do) give them life and agency of their own. 

Saturday

2- 3pm Cascade 9: Flawed Heroes & Well-Meaning Villains (w/ Phoebe Kitanidis, Frog Jones, S.A. Bolich, Diana Copeland) 

Writing characters that aren’t all good or all evil.  ie: The awesome kinds!

1 - 2pm Cascade 3&4: Where is Urban Fantasy Going? (w/ Rhianon Held, Esther Jones, Craig English, Tori Centanni)

What’s beyond all the vamps, werewolves, angels, and demons? Having explored all of the old tropes, what’s next? 

2- 3pm Cascade 9: Be Your Own Agent...Or Not! (w/ J.E. Ellis, Amy Raby, and David J. Peterson) 

…and Have a Fool for a Client? Alternately: …and Prosper? Pros debate whether you truly need an agent in 2015.
